What about the 2015 Mustang Shelby GT500?

We've seen spy videos of test mules for the 2015 Mustang Shelby GT500, but we haven't see much more than that. With Dodge revealing the 2015 Challenger and SRT Hellcat to the public many people are wondering when Ford will come out with a Mustang to do battle with it. We are basically 99% sure that a high powered Mustang variant is coming, but Ford hasn't told us when yet. Will we have to wait all the way till November for the LA Auto Show, or will Ford just announce the vehicle on it's own like it did with the Mustang reveal?

I would prefer more focus on the EU launch... The wait is longggg.....

LOL no you have it backwards, Ford does not NEED to answer to Dodge, it was Dodge who was answering Ford with the Hellcat. The 302 LAguna Seca was one of the meanest cars to come out of detroit in a long time. The new Z/28 Camaro was also a direct answer to the BOSS.

Not to mention the Challenger needs all 700 of those ponies, its the same size as a sky scraper.

LOL, but true.

It's not like Ford has a huge pressure to come out with the GT500, but it will eventually be the thing that competes with the Hellcat. I bet that the GT500 won't be the lightest of vehicles either though.

what might be tough for the gt500 is the next generation camaro, i have a bit of faith in them

There is a certain advantage to coming out with your vehicle second. Now Chevy knows exactly what the benchmark is so they will be bale to make sure the Camaro stacks up properly. What makes you think that the Camaro is going to be so good?

Chevy has been doing this for years. They came out with the Z and claimed it was a better car than the 302 Laguna, only problem is the 302 Laguna already went out of production. Now Chevy gets to brag for a year or two until they get smacked again. They do the same thing with pickups.

GO look up the Challenger and compare it to the mustang GT500 will NEVER get to those levels. Challenger is based on a fullsize sedan, LX platform...

it's going to be on GM's alpha platform which is a great one to start.
