Ford has announced that the V6 version of the 2015 Mustang will not be leaving the United States. That means that the sixth-generation pony car will have only two engine choices: the 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder and the 5.0-liter V8.

Yes, the V6 will stay in the US, except for some minor export markets. Generically, when we export to Europe and the other countries, it will be the 2.3-liter EcoBoost and the 5-liter V8,” Pericak told us during an interview at the Cobo Center.

Have no fear though Canada! The V6 engine should likely be offered in a few more North American countries.

This is not so bad, the 4cylinder will be a higher output engine, at least they still get some powerful choices. it will just be a small amount of people who wish they had a 6 cyl option

yea the Ecoboost 2.3 is an upgrade on the V6 anyways. Besides a V6 gets dinged hard by european C02 laws... its a smart move really.
