The 2015 Ford Mustang has been named on of three finalists in the North American Car of the Year award. The Ford Mustang is joined by the Hyundai Genesis Sedan and the Volkswagen Golf and GTI.

The grand prize winner will be announced at the Detroit Auto Show next month.

Not much more to say than that. I think that the Mustang has a pretty good chance of winning the big prize. The other two finalists are quite good cars too. I just don't think that the other two cars elicit quite the same emotional response as the Mustang does.

There is such an annual superfluity of awards that their relevancy is severely lacking. Sure the manufacturers love to feature them in adverts, but realistically, they mean little to the intrinsic value of the vehicle. You know nonsensical stuff like reliability, practicality, affordability etc.

Considering the award is voted on by journalists it often comes down to which automaker has given me the most swag/free liquor over the last year....HMMMMMM

I agree with you, but at the same time its kinda fun to see who wins. In the end its just opinion. Its subjective. its not like you can measure what the car of the year is.
