Choice is always FREE!

This year, the American automaker announced that it was dropping its Microsoft-based MyFordTouch infotainment system is favor of a new Blackberry QNX-based setup. Now, Ford is working to integrate both Apple Car Play and Android Auto, which allow consumers to control apps on their smartphones through the vehicle’s interface.

When Sync 3 debuts, it will also have its own suite of apps known as App Link which will also offer smartphone connectivity. “It’s not about AppLink versus CarPlay versus Android Auto; it’s about ensuring that our customers around the world are able to simply access the apps that they want,” a Ford spokesman told Car and Driver.
