Ford is working on a 10-speed transmission for the Mustang in order to appeal more to people who are fuel economy conscious. Not much news on this other than that. Here I have posted a link to the original story as well.

While the company is clearly preparing high-performance variants such as the Shelby GT500 and the GT350, the company is also working on implementing a 10-speed automatic transmission in the future for those more conscious on fuel economy.

Which will be shared with the F150. They've said the F150 will potentially be getting a turbodiesel model. Considering the F150 and the mustang powertrains have always been joined at the hip, I wonder if the turbo diesel is also being evaluated for the Euro Mustang?

A mustang Diesel ? That's what the romans would call a 'contradictio in terminis'. this would put an end to the mustang icon...


Let these drivers buy a Jaguar or Porsche or even Maserati Ghibli diesel...

I agree it deosnt fit with the brand, but I also don't think we should rule it out. Ford knows they have next to nothing to lose in europe with the S550, they may have a bigger risk appetitie in europr right now than ever before stateside....

that would be a good reason.
at least they know its easy to sell in markets that it's new to.

I wouldn't say its easier to sell into, but it will say its a bit easier to play with your positioning in a place where you've never had positioning before...

Our new to come government (again) has decided to adjust diesel and euro 95 fuel prices to the same level! Reason : Less pollution, so stop buying diesels...


This wil for sure have some impact on diesel sales...

I guess that makes it a bit of a good thing that the american market didn't go too heavy with diesels
