According to Ford the 2015 S550 Mustang will provide a shifting experience better than any previous pony car. Fine, what does that mean?

The Automatic

You lazy susans should get a kick out of the new wheel mounted flappy paddles, they boast a new downshift rev matching software. The tranny case has been cast with ribs to increase stability and reduce weight. The internal clutches have been optimized and it operates at a higher temp now to reduce friction.

The Manual

For all you rowers out there the Getrag sourced manual delivers a new shorter linkage and improved precision throughout the pattern. Positioning of the stick has been moved slightly closer to the driver and clear of the cup holders to make sure your power shifting is not impeded ;)

Eventually...

Mustang will see a new nine or ten speed auto thats being co deved with GM and the 6MT will likely be replaced by a 7MT...

Do you guys plan on getting a manual or automatic transmission in your Mustang?

I am leaning towards the automatic. I just think it will be more fuel efficient. And since there are paddles, I will still have something to play with.

I like this post.

But really... what is wrong with getting an automatic transmission? I just want to cruise.
theres nothing wrong with getting an auto trans. I've just never driven a mustang with an auto that I can say I truely enjoyed. Theres a level of control i refuse to give up for a faster shifting flappy paddle auto.

plus heel toe ya know ;)
