Supposedly the panoramic roof is killing the rag top. Birds word is that the take rate for pano roofs has a direct correlation with the decline of convertible sales. They offer no proprietary data but its not too hard to make the logical connection...

fortunately ford could never do this to the mustang, unless they include panoramic roof as an option alongside convertible.

The benefit of the panoramic roof is that it maintains the overall look of the car, and doesn't require nearly as much of an apparatus. Those two points make sense for both manufacturers and consumers.
