This is going to be one of the most interesting pieces of the auto industry to watch leading up to its European launch in the early half of 2015.

Europeans tend to have a preference for sleeker vehicles that can not only handle the claustrophobic antediluvian European streets but also carve their notorious twisty roads with poise and panache.

So how do you sell a market that has been particularly cold to iconic american cars? Of note even the Corvette has a rough go of establishing credibility in Europe.

Well I suppose one avenue is to enter the S550 in road racing series that appeal to Europeans? I'm not talking about GT3 classes or LeMans, I'm thinking something where the Mustang can be raced in near production form against the likes of the 4 series or the A5. Unfortunately the only thing that pops into mind is DTM, but I know theres more.

What do you guys think?

I think that the EcoBoost engine is what they are banking on to appeal to Europeans. You can have the look and excitement of a muscle car with an engine that is efficient. It simply won't sell as well in Europe as it does here though. That's just because of taste.

just offer a car that is worthy of the german competition

that is all

in handling, ride quality, and build
I'm not concerned at all. If the S197 GT could chuck throws with the e90 M3 around a circuit while still lugging around a live axle, imagine, just imagine what the S550 is going to be capable of..

Can't wait to begin seeing the A5/4 series vs EcoBoost track tests...
