Hi,

Can anyone answer my following questions?

1. I bought a used 2017 Mustang Ecoboost Premium recently. When I lock the car doors from the outside door handle sensor, I do not hear any chirp sound like I do on some of my other cars. All I hear is the mechanical noise of the lock solenoid. Are Mustangs supposed to chirp when you lock the doors?

2. Does anyone know how to enable the chirp sound? (I suspect that the previous owner may have disabled it)?

Thanks.

There is no "chirp" when you lock the doors passively. However when using the remote to lock the car it will flash the turn signals to signal the car is locked. If you depress the lock button on the remote control a 2nd time within three seconds you will hear the horn beep to confirm all doors, hood, & trunk are in fact locked.
