Ford has gotten top marks from the National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration's New Car Assessment Program.

It got five-star ratings in the frontal crash and side impact tests. It also earned five stars in the rollover simulation. There was only one four star mark, and that was for injuries to the rear passenger in the side-barrier crash.

"The new Mustang was built from the ground up," said Mustang chief engineer Carl Widmann. "It is more refined, more powerful and it has everything people have come to love about Mustang for the past 50 years."

What Will be the results when the convertible takes a roll over?
in a convertible it won't be pretty
the serious folk will go out and get a roll bar, but of course that's not your average mustang vert owner.
