Speaking at the 2015 Mustang's unveiling in Australia, Ford global powertrain chief Bob Fascetti revealed that the Detroit-based manufacturer is looking into new powertrain alternatives for the new pony car, including diesel, hybrid and electric ones.
“We’re not looking at diesel at the moment, but given where we need to go with fuel consumption we are looking at all our options. And diesel is one of those options, along with hybrids and electric,” said Fascetti.
I imagine that muscle car enthusiasts will have something to say about this, but in my opinion, they shouldn't complain. If they don't want an electric Mustang, don't buy it.
