I tried to order an MBRP XP Series Cat Back with Y-Pipe exhaust from American Muscle, only to be shut down because they won't ship to California due to it not being California Emission Certified. I really like the sound of this exhaust system and would love feedback on how to achieve this without all the roadblocks. I was thinking of going with the axle back but they don't have an MBRP Axle back exhaust. I also thought of just buying the MBRP mufflers and tips and having them installed at my local muffler shop, leaving the stock pipes from the cat to the muffler. Don't know if this will ruin the sound of the exhaust.

Any feedback would greatly be accepted!!

Either find another cat-back which is Cali emissions kosher or get the heck out of that state. Won't be long now and they'll be banning internal combustion engines altogether.

According to what I found on the internet, a CAT back exhaust system does not need to be CARB certified and the smog certification technician does not inspect this system after the catalytic converter. The pipes and muffler after the CAT do not affect pollution controls. It's the catalytic converter itself that needs to be CARB compliant in the state of California. But you do need need to be compliant with California exhaust noise laws.

As a test, I placed this item in their shopping cart with my California address and there were NO warnings/error msgs that said it could not be sold or shipped to me right up to the point where it asked for my credit card info (at which point I aborted the transaction). The site did say to check your local laws, and that's what I already did in my previous post So it appears that Summit Racing understands there are no restrictions for this product.
