Ford has had to recall the its new Mustang already but it is a really small recall -- just 53 units. The problem is with the passenger seat belt pretensioner sensors that were not properly calibrated by the supplier. In the event of a crash the uncalibrated sensors may not deploy passenger airbags properly.

The 53 Mustangs were built a Flat Rock Assembly Plant between Aug. 18, 2014 and Oct. 2, 2014. It is very unlikely that many of these vehicles are in the hands of customers.

No reason to be concerned really, but something worth noting.

I mean it was only 53 models so this is more just for the interest than any impact on anyone. I haven't seen any Mustangs at dealerships, but they must be getting there soon.

Its nice to hear about recalls for such a small number of units since that means they are really on top of things. That's the way it should always be.
