If you were hoping that Ford would unveil the Mustang's rumored burnout control system at the Consumer Electrics Show, you're out of luck as the company has revealed the mystery feature is the next-generation SYNC AppLink system.
Set to debut in the 2015 Mustang, the SYNC AppLink system boasts simpler menus and enhanced voice control. The improved system can also read notifications aloud and provide apps with access to real-time vehicle data such as speed, acceleration and its location - among other things.
According to Ford group vice president of global product development, Raj Nair, “Ford led the industry in giving drivers the ability to control their smartphone apps on the go with the introduction of SYNC AppLink in 2010. We are now making the in-vehicle app experience simpler and more intuitive to further help drivers keep their hands on the wheel and eyes on the road.”
