Mustang chief engineer Dave Pericak told Car&Driver that "We talked about a hatchback briefly." That was enough to get a 2015 Ford Mustang Shooting Brake rendering to be created and posted online. Sure it goes against Mustang heritage, but it would make it much more family friendly.

Other more muscley or sporty wagons have happened though. Think of the Panamera or the Ferrari FF.

Its not like it hasnt' been done before. There is some precedent.

hey man, Europes weird their really into wagons. Actually so am i for that matter. If the rear had a bit more slope to it I could potentially fall in love. We dont have enough wagons or shooting brakes any more

Panamera... no

Ferrari FF... okay.

I'll likely be near by with a parachute and fire truck to stop the panamera and put out the fire before you can destroy it

Porsche did admit that they made some mistakes when it comes to the design of the Panamera. I am guessing that the next iteration of the Porsche Panamera will try to fix those issues. I think that it is mostly to do with proportions.
