Purge valve less then 10k miles

2016 ecoboost with just shy of 9k miles and my warranty is already replacing the purge valve. Check engine light scanned and read excessive vaccum in fuel system.

Hmmmm..... well this is a DI engine and you definitely don't want any air in a high pressure fuel system.

What were the symptoms? Or did you just get a CEL and took it in for service?

Beside the CEL only adverse issues was when ever I filled up the car would struggle to turnover and stalled twice.

Scanned it to see what was up and then took it into the dealer to let them fix it.

Hey all, I'm rather new to this forum, and I read your issue with the purge valve being replaced at less than 10K miles. I had the same issue, and my mustang actually stalled while i was driving down the Toll Road doing 80 MPH, with big rigs climbing up my rear, due to the loss of speed from my car stalling out. Mine also would have a rough time starting after I'd fill up the tank, and it would take several attempts and sometimes even 6-7 attempts to start my car afterwards. It threw the codes P144c, P2196, P1450...

The Ford Dealership wanted to charge me parts & labor @ $574.00+Tax to replace the purge valve.... Glad you got yours done for free. It seems like there are a LOT of newer (2015-2017) Mustang owners that are having this issue, I would think that Ford would have a recall, or even a TSB out on this issue by now.

Folks, can anyone share the part number for our Mustangs? I have the P144C code also , and it sounds like the purge valve replacement is the fix.

The part I got, still waiting for the code to clear as my dealership service area was closed after I installed it, was FR3Z-9G297-C.

Thanks. I bough the part and replaced it myself. Then the dealer reprogrammed my computer. All is well and the check engine light is gone!
