"50 Years of Mustang" Celebration Events Kickstart on April 16th

The new 2015 Mustang coincides with the 50th anniversary of the pony car. To celebrate both, Ford and Mustang Club of America are joining forces to to bring us the largest multiday Mustang celebration in history. The events will start off on April 16th at the Charlotte Motor Speedway and Las Vegas Motor Speedway simultaneously.

Ford estimates that the five-day event will feature more than 5,000 Mustangs, and over 100,000 enthusiasts. Each location will feature displays with examples of every model year Mustang, including the new 2015 model.

Other activities include open track events, drag races, evening Mustang cruises, ride-and-drive programs in new Ford vehicles and Mustang history sessions. Prominent speakers will include Gale Halderman, who is credited with designing the shape of the first-generation Mustang, retired Ford vice president of design Jack Telnack and product planner Hal Sperlich.

This sounds like a fun event to go to , but show me the person who is going to take off that time room work in order to take this cross country trek. That would take some foresight and planning I think.

Has anyone done one of these ride along, caravan type travel events?

this is so true, most are tied down to 9-5's and don't have that sort of flexibility.

So I'm curious who ends up showing up to these events. I'm betting that it is a lot of retirees. Good for them.

I'm also jealous of the New Yorkers who will get to see the Mustang on the top of the Empire State building. That would be a sight to see.

just people that don't have a typical 9-5, could even be people that call in sick
or used their vacation days, rich people (yeah some still buy cars like this), old people, list goes on
