First Oil Change

Hi all,

I am new to the site. I've had 2 Mustangs but just picked up a 16 EcoBoost last week and I have a question about the oil. I have heard mixed reviews as to when the first oil change should be on a brand new car. The break-in period is 1000 miles, and Ford doesn't specify in the owner manual, it just says change it every 7,500. Should the oil be changed before that, as there could be gunk circulating in the oil due to burn off from the brand new engine? Or with these new cars do they want you to break it in for the full 1000+ with the original oil?

Thanks!

Ok 3,000? I just hit 1,000 so I'll keep that in mind. I am going to switch to full synthetic as well, you mind if I ask what you used? I have always used Pennzoil's line of full synthetics, do you have another preference?
